Storm clouds from a clearing storm form the backdrop as the Ponte Vecchio reflects light from a rising sun.
Spanning the Arno River in the city of Florence, Italy, the Ponte Vecchio is a landmark in that historic city. The first bridge on that site was made mention in 996AD. It was destroyed by a flood in 1117 and reconstructed after that only to be swept away again in 1333. Two central piers are said to have remained, It was rebuilt in 1345.

As a photographer, it is my belief that the two essential elements in a photograph are vision and light. Vision pushes the photographer out at different seasons, times and conditions to capture what he wants to convey and light is the primary tool in fulfilling that vision. My main passions in photography are in capturing country landscapes and small towns. As an avid student of history, I also enjoy finding out about the history of the region I am exploring. The best part of photography is being in a wonderful location and heading out very early in the morning or late in the evening when most people are still sleeping or settling in for the night.
