A young tree alone in the midst of a snowstorm. The effect of the snowstorm isolated this barren tree from the background of trees in the distant background as well as reduce the overall contrast of the scene, giving it more of a high key look. The white balance was left to give a cold, icy feel to the image.

As a photographer, it is my belief that the two essential elements in a photograph are vision and light. Vision pushes the photographer out at different seasons, times and conditions to capture what he wants to convey and light is the primary tool in fulfilling that vision. My main passions in photography are in capturing country landscapes and small towns. As an avid student of history, I also enjoy finding out about the history of the region I am exploring. The best part of photography is being in a wonderful location and heading out very early in the morning or late in the evening when most people are still sleeping or settling in for the night.
